Read the Introduction

A Huge 1906 Work by

Introduced by Richard A. Lupoff

LADY MECHANTE is a rarity among the Ramble House books. It's a facsimile edition, meaning that we took a picture of every page of the 1906 original book and reproduced it faithfully for this edition. The original was a beautiful book, with flowery artwork (much of it by Burgess himself) on every page. The story itself is an enigma and unlike anything you'll read these days. For Burgess it was an experiment and only you can say whether it was a success or not.

Read Richard Lupoff's introduction below to get a better idea of the incredible story of LADY MECHANTE.
